MADE IN JAPAN ™

MADE IN JAPAN™ is Menes' signature collection crafted from premium Japanese selvedge denim, combining exceptional craftsmanship with timeless design.

From the finest Japanese fabrics to meticulous sewing and finishing, every step of the MADE IN JAPAN™ process takes place entirely within Japan.
Japanese denim is renowned worldwide as one of the highest-quality fabrics, with selvedge denim woven on vintage shuttle looms holding a particularly esteemed reputation.

The history of Japanese denim began during World War II, when old-fashioned shuttle looms were brought from the U.S. Instead of using automated machines, Japanese craftsmen chose to operate these looms by hand.
Even today, denim is made using traditional looms and expert techniques, giving each piece a unique character that becomes more beautiful over time.

With an unwavering focus on fabric, silhouette, and sewing precision, MADE IN JAPAN™ has been over a year in the making—resulting in a pair of jeans you'll want to wear for life.

OKAYAMA DENIM

We produce OKAYAMA DENIM in Kojima, Kurashiki, Okayama—widely known as the birthplace of Japanese-made jeans. In Okayama, the entire denim-making process—from cotton cultivation and spinning to dyeing, sewing, and finishing—is done in one integrated system. From Okayama, Japan, we deliver authentic jeans to the world.

Japanese Selvedge Denim

Our jeans are made in Okayama, where we use an old-fashioned shuttle loom to weave selvedge denim which creates a strong and character-full textile that is unique –from the architecture of the thread and the spinning to the length of the slab.

Baggy silhouette

Creating a baggy silhouette with Japanese selvedge denim is a highly challenging task. Selvedge denim fabric has a limited width, so we had to cut the pattern right to the edge of its limits. These jeans truly push the boundaries of thigh width—the ultimate baggy jeans.
